Lifeline New York non profit organization, whose patron is HRH Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia, hosted a benefit dinner at Il Postino Ristorante in New York City. The event was sold out and attended by large number of friends and benefactors of Lifeline, who once again provided great support and showed their willingness and readiness to help those in need.
Guests were entertained by talented opera singer, Massimiliano Cims and even sang along during “Volare” number. Everyone was happy to reunite after two years and some even fetched great live auction items. Dr. Jelisaveta Sanja Rolovic volunteered to conduct, what turned out to be a very successful auction. Popular item was sparkling wine “Untouched by Light” matured in 168-year-old cellars void of light and bottled in 99.8% black glass. The entire production process is done in absolute darkness in Radgona vineyards, Slovenia.
Proceeds will go to children’s hospitals in Serbia and Ukrainian refugee children.
Some notable attendees included: Lifeline New York president David Hryck, Lifeline New York vice-president Susan Gutfreund, Lifeline New York vice-president Cheri Kaufman, Lifeline New York treasurer Peter Pizzino, Lifeline New York executive director Tijana Ibrahimovic, board members Dragana Djuknic, Kyle Wool, Dr. Bojana Jankovic Weatherly, Slobodan Bekvalac, philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, Bill Sclight, Michael Weatherly, Melissa Tomlin, Soo Yu, Nicole Steinthal, Alexandra DeBourcy, Olga Ferrara, Dr. Jelisaveta Sanja Rolovic, Frederico Wasserman, David Hochberg.
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine were not able to attend this event since they were not in the United States. Crown Princess Katherine’s letter was read by a board member Kyle Wool :
“Your efforts are making a tremendous difference in the lives of the people in our homeland and Ukraine, they are touched by your generosity and selfless help, and you once again show them that they have not been forgotten. In addition to helping children hospitals in Serbia, this year you will be able to help the refugee children of Ukraine, who are inflicted with the terrible war in their country. Our prayers and thoughts are with them!
So many important projects were completed thanks to the generosity of Lifeline donors throughout all these years, which represent a substantial contribution to the healthcare, social welfare, and educational systems of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska. When I see the smiles on the faces of all children that you have helped it brings warmth to my heart. Your efforts are highly appreciated by all those whose lives you have touched.
I am equally honored today as it is almost three decades ago when I became patron of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization. When I look more into the past, I always, with great fondness, remember my parents, who were great humanitarians, and who taught me in my early years, the true joy of life which is the joy of giving. This is something that I see in all of you, our dear supporters. You all know very well the enormous joy it brings to you when you contribute to those who are in need.
All you wonderful supporters, donors, benefactors, and friends of Lifeline New York, have saved, touched, and changed so many lives, our mission continuous. Working together, united in our cause, helps us continue our efforts in making a difference in the lives of people in need. I wish you a wonderful evening”.
