The Annual Frick Collection Spring Garden party gathered their most loyal supporters, the Fellows and Young Fellows. This was the last Spring party hosted at the temporarily location on Madison Avenue until Frick Collections return to the historic Frick Mansion home. Socialites dressed to impress with lots of flower motifs and bright colors. Besides delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres guests could see highlights from one of the world’s foremost collections of European paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. On view on the third floor , was the new special installation, Nicolas Party and Rosalba Carriera—the museum’s second installation to be inspired by a volume from the popular Frick Diptych book series. The display features a site-specific pastel mural created by the Swiss-born artist in response to the Frick’s Portrait of a Man in Pilgrim’s Costume by Rosalba Carriera, the renowned eighteenth-century Venetian pastelist. New York City–based jazz quartet The Flail entertained us for the evening.
