Delivering Good, a national nonprofit, hosted its annual Evening of Delivering Good fundraising gala, raising $1.5 million with contributions from sponsors, attendees, and an auction and paddle raise appeal that brought in over $100,000. Nearly 500 guests gathered at New York City’s iconic Gotham Hall to honor leaders across fashion, technology, education, and philanthropy, celebrating their contributions to the organization’s legacy. This year’s event emphasized the profound impact of seemingly small gestures and acknowledged over 30 years of support for Delivering Good.
With major supporters like Ralph Lauren and Burlington, and through general donations, Delivering Good has provided over 10 million units of new products valued at more than $146 million this past year.
Delivering Good President and CEO, Matthew Fasciano, introduced the organization’s latest initiative, the Basic Comforts Pack—a curated box of essentials designed to aid individuals immediately following a disaster.
“The Basic Comforts Pack addresses fundamental needs in crisis, playing a crucial role in restoring dignity and supporting recovery, whether in the aftermath of a natural disaster or during ongoing economic hardship,” said Fasciano.
The night’s honors began with Allan Ellinger, founder of Fashion Delivers (which later merged with K.I.D.S. to form Delivering Good), who presented the inaugural Luminary Award to industry icon John Pomerantz, former President, CEO, and retired Chairman of Leslie Fay. Pomerantz moved the crowd by taking the stage to accept the award, despite initially planning to remain seated, and delivered a heartfelt acceptance.
The Delivering Good Innovation Award went to Prashant Agrawal, CEO of Impact Analytics, introduced by Ben Pivar, CIO of Carter’s. Pivar praised Agrawal’s pioneering work in AI-driven inventory optimization, noting his influence in reshaping the sector. Brieane Olson, CEO of PacSun, received the Delivering Good Impact Award and shared the story of PacSun’s efforts to improve school attendance by building laundry rooms in Los Angeles public schools.
Auctioneer Chris Hanke led an appeal for funding, emphasizing support for the Basic Comforts Pack, before the event paused for dinner.
In the second half, Dr. Joyce Brown, President of FIT, was awarded the Vanguard Award for her dedication to education. Adam Doneger, Executive Vice Chair of Newmark, presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to his father, Abbey Doneger, President and CEO of Doneger Tobe, highlighting his lifetime commitment to the fashion industry and the organization’s mission.
The night closed with a final appeal from Fasciano and Daiane Sodre, model and Delivering Good Brand Ambassador, celebrating the evening’s theme, “Small Comforts, Big Impact.”
Fasciano remarked, “Your support means the world to us. With recent natural disasters, Delivering Good has teamed up with local organizations to bring essentials to those most affected.”
Andrea Weiss, Chair of Delivering Good, reflected on the organization’s 39-year history and highlighted ongoing campaigns, including the One Million Bras Campaign, which is on track with nearly half a million bras collected, and the Million Pair of Socks Campaign, which has raised over 12 million pairs since 2016.
Generously underwritten by Accenture, Impact Analytics, Michael Kors, Saks OFF Fifth, Burlington, and other supporters, the 2024 Evening of Delivering Good was a celebration of giving back and making a tangible difference.
