Made-to-measure suiting takes on a fresh edge with Sartoria Studio, a men’s fashion retail concept store developed by longtime collaborators Jack Menashe and James Mansour, the visionaries behind New York City’s iconic Limelight Marketplace, LOUNGE Soho, and countless other iconic New York City retail destinations. The modern haberdashery and style lab officially opened last night in Soho with a star-studded event attended by fashion designers and leading lights of New York’s City’s fashion community. The new store is already out to make a difference, partnering with Fashion Group International, Inc. for the month of February: lending further support to the FGI Foundation fund benefiting nonprofit ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer.
Sartoria Studio welcomed well-heeled guests to the store at 65-69 Houston Street from 6 to 9 p.m., among the first to discover the lounge-like space’s curated sample garments, premium ready-to-wear and accessory items, and décor offerings. Guests in attendance included FGI President and CEO Maryanne Grisz; fashion designers Frederick Anderson, Loris Diran, Carlos Campos, and others; as well as Fern Mallis; Chris Lavish, Katya Tolstova, and Olga Ferrara. Throughout the event, vocalist Minda Larsen and saxophonist Miles Tucker entertained attendees with a live performance. In a surprise turn of events, the Funny Auctioneer Bill McCuddy made an appearance and took over as master of ceremonies to introduce Sartoria Studio Founder Jack Menashe and Principal of Mansour Design, James Mansour.
The haberdashery, located at 65-69 West Houston Street at the corner of Wooster Street, welcomes clients seven days a week, whether a walk-in or private appointment. Clients booking private appointments can expect a pampering experience, with the chance to enjoy catered fare and beverages courtesy of the Studio’s own private chef. The seamless experience also extends after hours with off-site fittings, sample deliveries, and on-call styling advice from the company’s styling concierges available upon request.
Clients can also be assured that their February purchases will contribute to a good cause. Jack Menashe will be donating 10% of sales from the month of February to The Blue Jacket Fashion Show cause, via the Fashion Group International (FGI) Foundation benefiting nonprofit advocacy group ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer. With FGI, Sartoria Studio is proud to support the non-profit’s efforts to raise awareness and funding to support prostate cancer patients, improve early detection, and reduce mortality, with special emphasis on remedying racial disparities and supporting underserved communities. Sartoria Studio also outfitted Blue Jacket event Co-Founder and fashion designer Frederick Anderson in a made-to-measure Sartoria Studio blue jacket for the recent Blue Jacket Fashion Show in New York City, and the jacket was also on display in the store for the event.
