Karly B.:

Olivia, thank you for speaking with me and POP Style TV.

Olivia Brown:

Thank you so much POP Style TV for having me and giving me the opportunity to speak about my new Netflix show, “The Bastard Son and The Devil Himself”. I cannot wait to answer your questions.

Karly B.:

Let’s start with what inspired you to audition for a role in Netflix’s “The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself?”

Olivia Brown:

I was very curious and keen to play in a horror series. It was very different to any of the other projects I had auditioned for so far.

Karly B.:

Can you tell us a bit about your character, Lucy?

Olivia Brown:

At the beginning, Lucy is a very sweet and innocent girl. But it all changes, one night, when Jessica takes over her body. She turns into someone you wouldn’t expect her to be.

Karly B.:

How did you prepare to play the role of a witch?

Olivia Brown:

I had a few rehearsals with other cast members and also, some one-to-one rehearsals with one of the directors, Rachna Suri. She helped me use and practice different emotions. I had to pretend to be a panther to work on the scene when I crawled toward Nathan with a knife. I also had some voice coaching on Zoom.

Karly B.:

Do you have a favorite episode in the season?

Olivia Brown:

Because I am only 10, I have only been able to watch the episode I was in (actually I was only allowed to view bits of it because of the contents). I can’t wait to watch the whole series when I am older.

Karly B.:

“The Bastard Son and the Devil” himself is based on the novel the “Half Bad”. Did you have a chance to read the book, and if so, what did you think of it?

Olivia Brown:

I haven’t been able to read the book because I am too young. It is definitely on my reading list for when I am a few years older.

Karly B.:

If you could have any supernatural ability, what would it be and why?

Olivia Brown:

I would love to be able to read people’s minds. This way I would always know what they think.

Karly B.:

What was it like working alongside the cast and crew of the series?

Olivia Brown:

I had a lot of fun and everyone was so welcoming. They knew it was my first time on set and they were so helpful and supportive. I had the best time ever!

Karly B.:

Do you have any memorable behind-the-scenes moments of “The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself” to share?

Olivia Brown:

My favorite behind the scenes moment was when they created all the special effects and played the gun shots for the scene of the shooting inside the Ozanne’s home.

Karly B.:

What other drama can fans see you in next?

Olivia Brown:

I haven’t got anything lined up. However, I have had a few auditions lately so keep an eye out for me!

Karly B.:

Besides acting, are there any other goals you have?

Olivia Brown:

I would love to play more competitive tennis or football which are two sports I very much enjoyed.

Karly B.:

We heard that you’re an expert at speaking many languages. Is there one you don’t talk yet that you want to try next?

Olivia Brown:

I wish I could also speak Mandarin. It would be very challenging and so different from any of the languages I speak.

Karly B.:

Finally, what would you like to tell readers of Pop Style TV about “The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself”?

Olivia Brown:

I would like to say, if you are old enough, go and watch “The Bastard Son and The Devil Himself” on Netflix. All the people around me who were able to see it told me how much they enjoyed the series.

Thank you to Olivia Brown for speaking to Pop Style TV. She has a bright future ahead of her, and we can’t wait to see what other series and films she appears in next. Be sure to watch “The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself” on Netflix.
