What would be the best way to celebrate return of events? Spending the afternoon with Women of Inspiration at the historic Pierre Hotel in New York City! After two years of remote events, 285 people gathered in person to celebrate four women leaders from the fashion industry at Delivering Good’s 15th Annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon.
The event marked its 15th anniversary by honoring, Jordana Guimaraes, Co-Founder, Fashinnovation and Author, “It Can Be You”, Jen Sidary, Founder & CEO, angelforfashion.com, Natasha Fishman, Chief Communications Officer & EVP Marketing, Authentic Brands Group, and Donna Noce Colaco, Executive Chairwoman & CEO, Matilda Jane Clothing.
15th Annual Women of Inspiration Luncheon raised funds in support of Delivering Good’s work connecting excess new merchandise with people facing poverty and disaster. A portion of the funds raised will be dedicated to the organization’s ongoing work supporting refugees from Ukraine. Delivering Good has been providing support for communities in need, through the donation of new, needed merchandise, for more than 37 years. In that time, they provided more than $2.5 BILLION worth of new clothing, toys, home goods, furniture, books, and other consumer goods to a network of more than 800 community partners. Through this network, Delivering Good is helping people in all 50 states and beyond.
The program was hosted by non other than the Founder of POP Style TV and Luxury Style Expert Tijana Ibrahimovic. It included opening remarks by Delivering Good Board Chair, Andrea Weiss.
“But how does Delivering Good really create impact? Simply put….we work in two distinctive ways. I call them the quiet moments of impact…..and the loud moments of impact. Delivering Good works behind the scenes in both of these situations: moments of quiet desperation and in loud moments of national or global catastrophe.
In quiet moments, day-in and day-out, we deliver products to provide crucial support for families and individuals who are facing ongoing challenges related to poverty, incarceration, homelessness, and domestic violence. In the loud moments, we are a crucial part of recovery efforts addressing the re-building of lives devastated by unexpected natural disasters like hurricanes, wildfires, tornados, and earthquakes.” – said Delivering Good Board Chair and the Founder and CEO of The O Alliance Andrea Weiss
Weiss also made a big announcement, Matthew J. Fasciano is the new president and chief officer of the organization. He succeeds former board member and interim president Gary F. Simons.
We watched videos from two inspirational women leaders from Delivering Good network of community programs and a video with a glance on non profit’s work with those fleeing Ukraine.
DJ Hesta Prynn entertained us during lunch by playing a set of all female voices. Event co-chairs, Carole Postal and Amber Mundinger thanked guests for coming in their closing remarks.
It was truly a special occasion, celebrating four women leaders who even during their speeches touched our hearts.
