Podcasters UNITE! The popular “On Air Fest” is currently taking place in Brooklyn, New York at the Wythe Hotel until February 26th. In addition to a killer line-up of speakers like John Cameron Mitchell and Audie Cornish, the festival is rolling out a new “immersive podcast” experience where you can ‘tour’ the likes of your favorite podcast. It’s the first ever podcast “fan experience” where fans step inside a room at the hotel; a room that models some of their favorite podcasts. The participating podcasts are ON BEING, OBJECT OF SOUND, RADIO LAB, THE HEART, and of course our personal favorite, MY FAVORITE MURDER.
The hotel room for “My Favorite Murder” immediately transported us back to the 1970’s- the vibe (in our opinion) was ‘trailer park murder’ scene with an old brown couch, and wooden picture frames on the wall. Easily a place where murderers like John Wayne Gary would have no issue resting their head. Not to mention, all of the dolls laying around- ew. We also loved the cryptic phrase painted on the wall that read, “Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered.” On the surround sound, a creepy episode of the podcast was playing to really give you the entire immersive podcast experience.
