Since its inception in 1993, the luncheon has raised nearly $38 million, solidifying its role as a cornerstone fundraising event for the Foundation.

Among the honorees, Dr. Millie D. Long was recognized as the 2026 Woman of Distinction in Medicine. A leading expert in gastroenterology and a professor at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Long’s groundbreaking research focuses on preventing IBD complications and advancing women’s health. Her leadership continues to shape the future of patient care and clinical research.

Equally inspiring were Randi Siegal and her son Brett Siegal, named the 2026 Champions of Courage. Brett, diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at just 13, has transformed his journey into advocacy, even co-creating a nutrition guide for young patients. Randi, a boutique founder and cancer survivor, exemplifies resilience, balancing personal challenges with community involvement and philanthropy.
