The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation brought elegance and impact together at the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York for its annual Women of Distinction Luncheon, an afternoon where fashion, philanthropy, and powerful storytelling converged. This year’s event delivered both glamour and purpose, raising close to $2.2 million to support research, patient care, and education surrounding inflammatory bowel disease.

A highlight of the afternoon was a stunning runway show by Oscar de la Renta, unveiling its 2026 Pre-Fall Runway Collection. Known as a red carpet favorite, the brand infused the luncheon with high fashion, offering guests a front-row experience that seamlessly blended couture with cause.

Hosted by acclaimed journalist Lori Stokes, the event honored remarkable women whose work and resilience continue to drive progress in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis – conditions affecting nearly 1 in 100 Americans. Since its inception in 1993, the luncheon has raised nearly $38 million, solidifying its role as a cornerstone fundraising event for the Foundation.

Equally inspiring were Randi Siegal and her son Brett Siegal, named the 2026 Champions of Courage. Brett, diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at just 13, has transformed his journey into advocacy, even co-creating a nutrition guide for young patients. Randi, a boutique founder and cancer survivor, exemplifies resilience, balancing personal challenges with community involvement and philanthropy.

With support from leading sponsors including Pfizer, AbbVie, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, Eli Lilly and Company, and Sanofi, the luncheon reinforced a shared commitment to innovation and hope.

More than just a social highlight, the Women of Distinction Luncheon remains a powerful reminder that when community, science, and style unite, real change is possible bringing us one step closer to a future free from IBD.
