The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, the leading nonprofit dedicated to curing Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, presented its 57th Annual Gala, “Broadway’s Got Guts!. This unforgettable evening took place on Monday, November 11, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Pier Sixty in New York City. The event honors the courage of individuals living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and raises critical funds to support research aimed at finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Broadway’s Got Guts! was a very an inspiring night of fundraising, gourmet dining, and spectacular Broadway performances. The evening started with a tasting experience featuring top New York City restaurants, including Lure Fishbar, Soledad, and Mark’s Off Madison. Following the tasting, a full dinner service was enriched with captivating performances by Broadway stars. The lineup included cast members from “Jersey Boys” (Courter Simmons, Dominic Nolfi, Kevin Worley, and Matthew Amira), Keirsten Hodgens and Abby Mueller from “Six”, Carrie St. Louis (Wicked and Rock of Ages), and Major Attaway (Aladdin).
Since its founding in 1967, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation has been at the forefront of every major breakthrough in IBD research and treatment. To date, the organization has invested over $500 million in research and supported more than 2,500 groundbreaking projects.
Broadway’s Got Guts! gala honored two distinguished leaders in IBD research and care: Dr. Caren Heller and Dr. Fabrizio Michelassi. Dr. Heller, the former Chief Scientific Officer of the Foundation, has driven advancements in research and clinical programs, including innovative platforms like IBD Plexus® and IBD Qorus™. Dr. Michelassi, a globally renowned gastrointestinal surgeon and Chairman of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, is recognized for developing bowel-sparing surgical techniques for Crohn’s disease and his extensive contributions to medical education and literature. Additionally, the Community Impact Leader Award was presented to Emilia Slotnick, Vice President of the Young Professionals Group of the Greater New York Chapter, for her dedication and leadership.

The 57th Annual Gala, Broadway’s Got Guts!, raised over $808,000 to support the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s mission of finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, while improving the lives of children and adults affected by these conditions. Incredible community of patients, medical professionals, healthcare leaders, families, and friends came together to make this event such a success.
