Fashion season is taking over Paris. So who better to join on the festivities than luxury brand Louis Vuitton? Louis Vuitton is collaborating with designer Virgil Abloh on the latest “Men’s Temporary Residency” in Paris. From Jan. 8-31, visitors can discover or relive some of Abloh’s most coveted collections.
The collection is the latest addition to the several men’s fashion events in Paris this month. According to the fashion brand, it aims to highlight “Virgil Abloh’s collections from Spring-Summer 2019 to Spring-Summer 2021.” The residency also aimed to happen during the Spring-Summer 2021 collection release. So what does the limited storefront offer?
The Sneakers
This year’s “Men’s Temporary Residency” appears to be about bold shoes and accessories. From colors to material, these items are sure to draw attention from onlookers. The LV Trainer Sneakers feature transparent monogram material with bright colors like blue and lime green. The shoes also feature Abloh’s handwritten Louis Vuitton signature and seven hours’ worth of stitching.
The Accessories
But the accessories are just as distinct. The Cuban link chains aren’t the standard silver. Instead, Abloh utilized multicolored finishes to make the chunky necklace standout. The varying colors of blue, purple, and pink were hand-painted. Crystals also adorn the jewelry. Plus, engraved in the necklace is their staple monogram.
Sunglasses and wallets were also a main part of the collection. Wallets mimic their iconic trunks with the brown canvas and monogram. They’re more functional than traditional wallets, as their adjustable strap creates a crossbody. Abloh also explores the thick sunglasses trend with the 1.1 Millionaires Sunglasses. They sport a deep, beveled square shape with a black lens. The shades are also trimmed in a gold monogram. But the most interesting feature is the metal clasp that also sports “LV”.
