What To Watch: Emmy Nominees

The Emmy Nominations Awards 2021 nominations are full of great, streamable options like The Crown (24 nominations), The Queen’s Gambit (18 nominations), and Bridgerton (12 nominations). Most of the heavily nominated options are period drama pieces, but there’s tons of other options if that’s not your cup of tea.

The Queen’s Gambit follows Beth Harmon, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. She’s a chess prodigy who battles with drug and alcohol addiction while trying to become the best chess player in the world. If you need a dose of badass girl power, this is definitely it. You can stream the show on Netflix.

Adapted from Margaret Atwood’s famous novel, the show centers around a dystopian totalitarian society characterized by its obsession with the growing infertility problem. The very few remaining fertile women are enslaved and forced into reproductive roles in society. It’s disturbing and beautifully done, but definitely is not for the faint of heart. You can stream the show on Hulu.
