Flower prints and bold colors commanded a very stylish Spring Garden Cocktail Party at the Frick Madison. For the first time, annual event was held at the Upper East Side, modernist building designed by Marcel Breuer, temporary new home of The Frick Collection. It attracted about 500 of most loyal supporters, Fellows and Young Fellows.
Attendees were able to experience Frick’s masterpieces at Frick Madison setting while enjoying New York City–based jazz quartet The Flail, gallery talks and festive cocktails. Delicious hors d’oeuvres were also served in the garden area of the museum decorated with flowers, ideal for mingling and selfies.
During Frick ‘s Spring Garden Party all galleries were open , so festive attired party goers could see one of the world’s most notable collections of European paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts ranging from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century. Bellini, Degas, Fragonard, Gainsborough, Goya, Ingres, Rembrandt, and Veronese are some of the celebrated artists on display.
Blending tradition with the modern, new scenery was a happening to remember. It did inspire some modern fashion takes on the usual New York City, Frick Mansion classic looks.
