Mall of America visitors will have an easier time finding ice cream this holiday season, as a second Häagen-Dazs store has opened in the nation’s largest shopping center.
The storefront was previously a Bank of America branch, which was remodeled into the ice cream franchise under the leadership of design-build commercial and residential firm Minneapolis Contractor’s Choice.
A Delicious Win for Americans
There are over 200 Haagen-Dazs stores in US, and many fans of the luxury ice cream brand might be surprised it was founded on American soil. The company was started by two Polish immigrants from the Bronx more than 65 years ago. They chose a name that sounded fancy from their motherland. The name is completely made up and has no actual meaning in any language.
As a franchise, the locations are owned by many different people across the country, a powerful emblem of a big name that fuels a lot of small businesses.
Haagen-Dazs has grown to be a household name and one of the largest franchises in the world.
A Place for Family
“We’re very proud to help expand this wonderful American franchise with their new store and to be part of the team that built a place meant to spread happiness through delicious ice cream while giving families another way to spend time together,” Leena Heiman, the qualifying general contractor, told Pop Style TV.
Leena is the CEO of the firms two DBAs: MCC Kitchen Bath and Closet Remodeling, and Contier.
The Mall of American currently has more than 520 stores with more to open in the coming months.
As of last Friday, you can officially add a second Häagen-Dazs to this list.
