“This wonderful society is intrinsically linked with the heritage of Mozart. It’s something very dear to our hearts and it needs support,” said Hawkins. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for audiences to experience music and culture in an uplifting, enlightening, and enjoyable setting, while encouraging guests to become members and participate in future events.
Lisa Walsh-Hawkins shared how the couple first met Lewek during Mozart Week in Salzburg this past January, where the soprano performed the iconic role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Lewek has performed the demanding role more than 350 times internationally, including a remarkable 85 performances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

Kathryn Lewek Performs Three Memorable Opera Arias
The highlight of the evening was an exceptional performance by Lewek, who presented three celebrated opera arias: “Ah, forse è lui” from Verdi’s La traviata, “Come scoglio” from Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and “Martern aller Arten” from Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
The performance of “Come scoglio” was particularly special, marking the first time Lewek had performed the aria before an audience. It also served as a preview of her upcoming role debut as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte during Mozart Week in Salzburg in January 2027.
Reflecting on her career and the friendships she has developed along the way, Lewek expressed her appreciation for the evening’s hosts and the American Mozarteum Society.
“This career has brought me all over the world, and my journey has been defined by the relationships and friends I have made, Lisa and Andrew among them. It’s only been a year, and we’re already family,” said Lewek.
The celebrated soprano will return to the role of Konstanze in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail at Deutsche Oper Berlin in December 2026. Her upcoming engagements also include her role debut as Fiordiligi during Mozart Week in Salzburg, scheduled for January 22–29, 2027.
Among the distinguished guests were American Mozarteum Society board members Kimberly Allan and her husband, Rob Allan, as well as Marta de Radzyminski.
