When it’s time to celebrate a big milestone, it’s easy to default to drinks or dinner reservations. However a great option could be South Florida! Filled with memorable experiences that turn birthdays, anniversaries, girls’ weekends, or even “just because” moments into something you’ll be talking about for years to come.
Whether you’re planning a romantic date, a family day out, or gathering your favorite people together, these unique things to do in South Florida prove that the best celebrations are often the most unforgettable ones.
Cruise to the Sandbar… Tiki Style
Few things say “South Florida celebration” quite like spending the day on the water, and Cruisin Tikis West Palm Beach adds an extra dose of tropical fun.
These floating tiki bars cruise through the beautiful waterways of West Palm Beach before anchoring at the local sandbar, where guests can jump into the crystal-clear, shallow water, relax in the sunshine on an attached float, and simply enjoy the day.
While the festive floating tiki bars are popular for bachelor and bachelorette parties, don’t let that fool you. They’re incredibly family-friendly too. Kids love splashing around in the shallow sandbar, and even your trained four-legged family members are welcome aboard.

Their friendly and knowledgeable captains are there to help make your day special. No alcohol is sold on board, so the experience is BYOB. Pack whatever you’d like to enjoy, from picnic lunches and juice boxes to champagne and charcuterie boards. There really is no wrong way to enjoy a Cruisin Tiki.
Owner, Captain Josh genuinely loves taking people out to enjoy a fun day on the water. The company has six tiki boats, each accommodating up to six guests. Cruisin Tikis is also perfect for big groups. Rent multiple tikis and the crew can even connect them together, allowing guests to walk from one boat to the next without stepping into the water. You also never know who or what you might run into on the sandbar so a high quality waterproof phone case is a must. ProShot Touch 2.0 is perfect for capturing fish and turtles in the water or just to keep your phone protected while you enjoy a little island fun.
Cook Up a Celebration Together
Sometimes the best meal isn’t the one someone else cooks, it’s the one you create together. At Sur La Table in Mizner Park, Boca Raton, couples, friends, and families can turn dinner into an experience by taking one of their hands-on cooking classes. You’ll work together preparing restaurant-quality dishes and learning new skills before enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Popular upcoming classes include Date Night: French Elegance theme with menus featuring seared scallops, classic pommes purée, and a decadent chocolate soufflé with salted caramel sauce, as well as Date Night: Five Star Steakhouse class where meat lovers can learn to prepare chili-crusted ribeye with herb compound butter, grilled zucchini and a seasonal plum galette.
In addition explore the vibrant flavors of Latin America with a class cooking up Peruvian-spice rubbed grilled chicken and shrimp ceviche or sign up for specialty workshops that teaches you to make handmade pasta or delicate French macarons from scratch. You’ll leave with full stomachs and new culinary skills to recreate and continue to enjoy your masterpieces again and again.
Magic of Jellyfish
One of South Florida’s newest attractions is also one of its most mesmerizing. The newly opened Jellyfish Museum in Pompano Beach offers visitors an up-close look at some of the ocean’s most fascinating creatures. Illuminated tanks showcase dozens of live jellyfish as they drift effortlessly through the water, creating displays that are as relaxing as they are captivating.
Owners Yana and Alex Yanovsky first opened the world’s first Jellyfish Museum in Ukraine before bringing their passion to South Florida with the first Jellyfish Museum in the United States, which opened in Pompano Beach on March 27. The museum grew out of a true passion project after Yana found herself captivated by watching the jellyfish in her own aquariums and believed these mesmerizing creatures deserved a stage of their own.

Jellyfish have existed for more than 500 million years and continue to inspire scientific discoveries, including research into cancer treatments and other medical breakthroughs. Today, visitors can enjoy guided educational tours that explore both the science and beauty of these fascinating creatures while watching dozens of jellyfish gracefully drift through beautifully illuminated tanks.
The museum hopes to eventually showcase more than 100 species throughout the year while expanding the experience beyond the exhibits. Future plans include STEM workshops, yoga and meditation sessions, musical performances, magic shows, and other evening events, allowing guests to celebrate or simply unwind while surrounded by the calming beauty of jellyfish floating all around them. It’s a setting unlike anywhere else in South Florida.
Paddle Through Paradise in a Clear Kayak
Paddle Paradise offers one of South Florida’s coolest adventures with their crystal-clear kayaks. As you glide across the calm waters around Palm Beach, the transparent bottom creates a surprisingly magnified view of the underwater world below.
Owner Toni grew up in the area and is incredibly knowledgeable about the local marine life, with a genuine passion for protecting it. During the 1.5-hour guided tour, she’ll take you to some of her favorite spots around Peanut Island while sharing stories about the wildlife and ecosystem. The beginner-friendly experience is suitable for ages 5 and up, with small groups of up to 10 guests, making it perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends looking for a unique day on the water.

The clear kayaks naturally magnify the underwater world, making it surprisingly easy to spot giant starfish, schools of colorful fish, and, with a little luck, a manatee or sea turtle passing by. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience searching the waters . The tour allows everyone to experience South Florida’s incredible marine life from the comfort of their kayak.
For larger groups, Paddle Paradise also offers an Inclusive Paradise Party Package featuring a three-hour experience with snorkel gear, snacks, and drinks.
Bonus Pick: Start the Celebration with a Little Self-Care
Every great celebration deserves a little preparation, and there’s no better way to kick things off than with a visit to Serene Head Spa in Palm Beach Gardens.
Despite the name, a head spa is so much more than just a scalp treatment. The experience begins with a relaxing foot soak and massage before moving into an incredibly soothing head spa treatment where expert hands work not only on your scalp, but also your neck, shoulders, arms, and legs. If you really want to indulge, add one of their luxurious facials for the ultimate reset. Not only does the treatment deeply cleanse your scalp, but it’s also designed to promote relaxation and help lower cortisol levels.

Owner Christina spent more than two years working at head spas before opening her own studio this past October. Drawing on both, her experience in head spas and as a licensed massage therapist, she wanted to create a treatment that combines the best of both worlds. Missing the opportunity to incorporate full-body massage into traditional head spa treatments, she built Serene Head Spa around the idea of total relaxation before any special occasion.
Christina also brought back some of her favorite luxurious touches, including rose petals in the foot baths and the calming scent of lavender, creating an elevated experience from beginning to end. She has big plans for the future, including adding zero-gravity pods, an oxygen chamber, and additional wellness experiences to transform Serene Head Spa into a complete relaxation destination.
Celebrate a Little Differently
The best celebrations aren’t always about extravagant gifts or fancy dinners. Sometimes they’re about trying something new, spending quality time together, and creating stories you’ll laugh about for years.
Whether you’re relaxing with a luxurious spa treatment, floating to a sandbar on a tiki boat, kayaking alongside sea life, discovering glowing jellyfish, or learning how to cook an unforgettable meal together, South Florida offers countless ways to make every special occasion feel truly extraordinary.
