Emerging Vincentian designer Mashell Goodluck showcased his Fall/Winter 2020 collection in a runway show, presented by The Knockturnal and powered by Lugz and Shea Moisture during New York Fashion Week. Afterwards, guests enjoyed the after party presented by Plush Vodka. Held at White Space Chelsea, Goodluck’s FVWL ‘20 Show combined high end style street wear with couture. Originally established in 2014, it was inspired by Goodluck’s St. Vincent roots. 

“I am inspired by places,  the natural flow of life and architecture. Ultimately, I want to make fashion that’s as beautiful as a caterpillar’s evolution to a butterfly. However, my driving force will always be island culture and color,” shared Mashell Goodluck. 

Fashion is an avenue to influence the youth in a positive way and Goodluck is excited to make an impact. His designs have already graced shows across America, from Los Angeles to New York City. 

“My new collection was motivated by my never-ending adoration and curiosity of the deep ocean and outer space. The parallels between the two fused to create designs that feel otherworldly and familiar. I am endlessly inspired by the ocean full of mystery, power, and sorrow. My collection is designed to provoke our desire to always search for more,” said Goodluck. 

Notable guests who attended included; The Knockturnal Founder OJ Williams, TV Personality Delaina Dixon, Actress Tashiana Washington, Love & Hip Hop: New York’s Mamma Jones, Singer Ra[K]ooN, GQ Insider Paris and Stylist Keino Benjamin, Influencer Igee Okafor, Influencer Shameer Khan, Tattoo Artist Bronxink, and Influencer Tizita Belemlay.  Additionally, TV personality Stephanie Giang hosted the red carpet throughout the event on behalf of The Knockturnal TV. 

Sponsors for the event included: Lugz, Sarina Sweets, Shea Moisture, Tresemme, Pacific Beauty, Plush Vodka, and Co-air Brooklyn. 

The models walked the runway in style thanks to Lugz. Some of the styles included the White Vulcan Oxford, White Men’s Typhoon, the Tan Colorado Chukka and the White Womens Dotcom 2.0. 

Shea Moisture graciously donated a variety of their products including: Hydrate + Repair Protein Power Treatment, Brighter Days Ahead Serum, Hydrate + Repair Shampoo, Hydrate + Repair Conditioner, Daily Hydration Foaming Facial Wash, Hydrate + Repair Multi-Action Leave In, 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Leave in Treatment, and Brighter Days Ahead Lip Balm. 

The Hair Lead for the event was Jachelle Whiting who styled the show using Tresemme products and worked alongside Makeup Lead Andrea DiSabatino who used Pacific Beauty to complete her looks for the night.
