Ricardo Seco presented his Spring/Summer 2016 “Luck” collection For New York Fashion Week Men’s on July 16, 2015 at Skylight Clarkson Square. Seco is the first Mexican menswear designer to take New York Fashion Week by storm back in 2012. His designs speak for themselves with bright colors that are edgy and hip yet classy.
His latest “Luck” collection is inspired by “A man who knows how to play the game of life, who trusts in who he is and where he is going, without forgetting where he comes from. He enjoys all and knows his luck and essence. He knows how to share and take advantage of his opportunities.” Seco brings the Mexican pop culture into each one of his masterpieces which gives off a level of sophistication that especially New Yorkers can appreciate.
“Luck” is inspired by the popular Mexican game, “La Loteria” with the sole purpose of combining tradition and “cutting edge design.” What you’ll see in Spring/Summer prints are four cards from the game that Ricardo chose for this collection -the mermaid, the palm, the scorpion and the heart. The mermaid represents mysticism, luck, imagination and one who dares to dreams. The palm gives you the feeling of freedom and nature; the scorpion is there for its audacity and the heart represents the feeling of loyalty with great passion.
The combination of all four is exactly what this collection exhibits. You will see leather, neoprene, cotton and printed fabrics with black, white and a pop of color blended together for the urban sophisticated man. Perfect wardrobe for the Spring/Summer season!
