Holiday Beauty Ideas for All December Long

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluslinkedinrssyoutube

Sure everyone loves December. Your social calendar is buzzing with holiday parties, New Year’s Eve’ plans and family get togethers. While you may have already tackled what to wear to each occasion, it’s a great time to also try a new beauty routine. The cooler weather is a great time to try out a dark lip or add a little sparkle and mystique to your eyes.

We’ve rounded up the hottest colors and best products to get you through the most festive (and photographed) time of year! From work-party to dinner with the in-laws, you’re bound to look flawless.

Start off with an even complexion. Our editors are sort of obsessed with tarte’s Amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation and here’s why you should be too. The lightweight formula, applied with tarte’s airbuki baboo powder foundation brush, goes on nice and even. While we’ve grown accustom to keeping foundation in our purse for touch-ups throughout the day, the Amazonian clay formula stays put all day long and feels as if you’re not wearing makeup.

Once you have an even canvas, it’s time to play up your best features. To enhance your cheekbones and slim your nose (à la Kim Kardashian) tarte’s the sculptor is just the little double-ended tool to get the job done. With one side for contouring in and one side for highlighting, getting the perfect cheekbones couldn’t be easier. We also recommend a finishing powder to keep shine down and your makeup in place. Bare Minerals’ Mineral Veil really gets the job done and their limited edition holiday mega-sized jar will last well into the new year.

For a sultry pout, try Dior’s Diorific Mat velvet lipsticks. The bright pigmented colors glide on smoothly and stay put while you dance the night away. Try a flirty and festive pink or red like “Fantastique” or “Fabuleuse” to instantly add a little holiday cheer. After trying on dozens of shades by countless different brands, I can say for certain, Dior really knows how to make a lipstick that pops!

If your all about adding some glitz to those baby blues (hazel, green or brown eyes) try MAC’s Irresistibly Charming Glitters and Pigments in gold. This 4 colored set of ultra rich pigment in various shades of copper and gold can add just a touch of drama or, layered together, full out glitz and glamour.Or add a winged eyeliner for instant glam. With tarte’s tartest clay paint liner, it couldn’t be simpler. Just add a little of their cream waterproof eyeliner onto the built-in blending stage. Start in the middle of your eye and flick the outer corner up to form the desired shape. Their angled brush makes it simple to master this much sought after look.

The best way to really leave an impression is with an intoxicating scent. Bottega Veneta The Knot Eau Florale is a delicate scent which will sweep you away. With top notes of mandarin, peony and muguet, it conjures up romantic images of running through fields of flowers on the Italian Riviera. Or for a twist on a classic floral fragrance, try Miu Miu’s Eau de Parfum. Boasting of top notes of star Anise, ginger and green lily of the valley and rounded out with sandalwood, akigalawood and nirvanolide. This invigorating scent is perfect for the upcoming fashionista looking to leave her mark!
